CARETAKER & HANDYMAN
 

Are you a reliable, hands-on individual who’s passionate about community support? East Keswick Village Hall is seeking a Caretaker & Handyman to help maintain and support our village hub. If you’re local (East Keswick or nearby villages) and can dedicate 2-6 hours per week,
we’d love to hear from you!

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Maintenance Checks: Conduct weekly fire alarm tests, inspect emergency lighting, and monitor the first aid kit, restocking as needed.
 

Event Support: Complete post-event handover checklists to facilitate smooth event operations.
 

Inventory Oversight: Ensure supplies are well-stocked and coordinate with contractors such as window cleaners and the gardening team.
 

General Repairs: Handle light repairs and maintenance to keep the Hall in top shape.
 

Key Holder Duties: Serve as a point of contact outside standard hours for urgent matters and emergencies.

 

Position Details:

 

Compensation: £20/hour for up to 6 hours per week

This role offers the chance to actively engage with your community while making a tangible difference. Some DIY or maintenance experience is preferred, but above all, we value reliability and a proactive attitude.
